Berkeley Ace Cops PCL Outstanding Pitcher Award Monday, October 16th , 2023 The Berkeley Blaze have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Nick Nelson, this year's Pacific Coast League Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Nelson compiled a 13-4 record in 23 starts, tallied 129 strikeouts in 140.1 innings and recorded a 2.82 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .213 batting average against him. He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 12. Dylan File of the Hawaii Typhoon finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Seth Martinez of the Albuquerque Sidewinders finished third with 2 first place votes.
