Car Announces Outstanding Pitcher Award Wednesday, October 11th , 2023 Dillon Peters joined an elite group of pitchers today by picking up the Carolina League Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2023. The 31-year-old hurler finished the year 14-5 for the Newport News Destroyers, piling up 188.1 innings, registering 135 strikeouts and walking 59 on his way to a solid 3.15 ERA. He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 10. Logan Rinehart of the Lynchburg Scouts finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Matt Allan of the Kingston Buccaneers finished third.
