Standout Season For Marte, Wins CAL Outstanding Hitter Award Tuesday, October 10th , 2023 Luis Marte of the Malibu Stars had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2023. The 29-year-old shortstop put up a .327 average and a .397 on-base percentage, piling up 166 hits, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 20 home runs, 73 RBIs and 84 runs scored. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Kyle Kasser of the Malibu Stars finished second in voting, while Dom Nunez of the Fremont Jammers finished third.
