NYP Outstanding Hitter Award Goes To Boone

The future looks extremely bright for Trevor Boone. At the age of 26, many players are still trying to find their way in New York-Penn.

Boone has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the New York-Penn Outstanding Hitter Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .364 this year, that's for sure," the right fielder said.

The Princeton Tigers star also put up a .440 on-base percentage this year, with 76 hits, 19 doubles, 1 triple, 11 home runs, 55 RBIs and 37 runs scored.

He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 12. Jase Bowen of the Brooklyn Cyclones finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Jose Cuas of the Utica Blue Sox finished third.
