Chicago Dealt 6-2 Defeat
|
Due in large part to right fielder Rece Hinds, the Washington Hitmen sunk the Chicago Explorers, 6-2. Hinds was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ian Hamilton finished the game for Washington and earned his 11th save. The Hitmen now have a record of 22-27 with the win over Chicago.
The Hitmen got a big at-bat from third baseman Gage Workman. For the game, Workman was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Washington a 2-1 lead.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Hinds told the Washington News.
