Diamonds Deal Sluggers 5-4 Loss
|
Tyler Mahle, who is tied for 7th in the UL in wins with 5, was locked in. The right-hander led the Anaheim Diamonds to a 5-4 win against the St Louis Sluggers at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Anaheim reliever Jared Koenig picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Nate Pearson was saddled with the loss. The second-place Sluggers have lost 4 consecutive games.
Anaheim got a clutch hit from Nolan Gorman. The third baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"Our guys refused to lose," said Gorman.
