Hitmen Rally Late to Nip Explorers
The Washington Hitmen locked up a win at RFK Stadium, knocking off the Chicago Explorers, 5-4. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson. He played a major role in the triumph. Nic Enright picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Shawn Armstrong was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Washington sits at 23-27; Chicago slips to 26-24.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jake Meyers in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 34-year old right-handed pitcher Shawn Armstrong to win the game for Washington. The home crowd went nuts.

"Simeon is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Washington manager John Anderson.
