Phoenix pitcher Brant Hurter had a large part in his team beating the Seattle Sting, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Picking up the save was two-time All-Star Edwin Diaz. With the win, Phoenix upped its record to 30-20.
Matt McLain, who is tied for 5th in the FL in runs scored with 39, chipped in a 2-run home run for Phoenix in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
McLain called the win "a team effort."
