Acuna Jr. has 3 hits in San Francisco Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Ronald Acuna Jr., the San Francisco Dragons knocked off the Carolina Riptides, 9-2. Acuna Jr. was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Dragons. The winner was Dustin May, who threw 89 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits. Brusdar Graterol closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
In the top of the eighth, the Dragons grabbed the lead when Acuna Jr. hit his 11th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Matt Brash made it 4-1, San Francisco.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said San Francisco skipper Joe Turnage.
San Francisco goes to 31-20, Carolina to 30-21.
