Snakeyes Top Roses, 1-0, Behind Ray
|
Robbie Ray, who finished 2nd in the UL in ERA with 3.07 in 2019, was in top form in a tight contest between San Diego and Oakland. The Snakeyes left-hander helped his team beat the Roses, 1-0. Picking up the save was Peter Fairbanks, his 10th. San Diego is 22-29 and Oakland, with the loss, 25-26.
Ray, who dominated for San Diego, earned the victory to move to 3-6. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. Oakland batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Robbie did a good job keeping the game under control," said San Diego manager Kelly Woolsey.
