The Texas Vipers picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, dropping the Philadelphia Phalanx, 6-4. Nestor Cortes, who is tied for 2nd in the UL in quality starts with 7, was the difference-maker. Emmanuel Clase nailed down his 10th save. The Vipers now have a record of 24-28 with the win over Philadelphia.

Texas used the hitting of Brent Rooker to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Vipers on top, 4-0. For the game, Rooker had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Winning never gets dull," said Rooker.
