Anaheim Wins, Springer 4-for-5
|
The Anaheim Diamonds beat the Pittsburgh Ironmen, 9-3, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. George Springer, in particular, was impressive. He was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Anaheim win streak is now 5 games.
Ali Sanchez had a big run-scoring double for the Diamonds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Anaheim leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Tanner Tully and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Diamonds ahead, 3-1.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Anaheim manager Michael Kirk.
