Jaguars Lose, 6-1, at Busch Stadium
The home crowd had a good time watching the Portland Jaguars and St Louis Sluggers get after it.

The St Louis Sluggers knocked off the Portland Jaguars, 6-1, in Federal League action at Busch Stadium. St Louis pitcher and Elk Grove Village, Illinois, native Bobby Miller had an outstanding performance. Miller picked up the win for St Louis, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3.

The Sluggers got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeimer Candelario. For the game, Candelario was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave St Louis a 2-0 lead.

Candelario said his team "played with focus."

The defeat makes Portland 22-32.
