Wildcats Stumble, Lose to Hitmen
|
The Baltimore Wildcats had to reckon with Washington Hitmen hurler Kodai Senga. Senga, who is tied for 10th in the FL in wins with 5, overwhelmed the opposition in the 8-1 Hitmen triumph. The winner was Senga. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Zack Wheeler. Washington has now won 3 in a row.
Washington won the game in part because of William Contreras. The catcher ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Hitmen ahead, 3-0. For the game, Contreras had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Kodai gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Washington skipper John Anderson.
