Jaguars Snatch Late-Game, 8-7 Win
|
The 8-7 Portland win over Minnesota was due in large part to Justyn-Henry Malloy. The Jaguars designated hitter was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs. The win puts Portland at 23-34.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Max Kepler came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Minnesota pitcher Ryan Walker, he hit a first pitch slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Portland on top, 8-7.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Kepler.
