Anaheim Diamonds starter Jon Gray pitched his team past the Tampa Bay Bandits, 3-2. The winner was Gray. He threw 5.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Cade Cavalli. Anaheim is now 26-32, Tampa Bay 34-24.
Matt Thaiss had a big run-scoring double for the Diamonds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Anaheim leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a slider from Cade Cavalli, who is tied for 4th in the FL in wins with 6, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Diamonds ahead, 3-1.
"We were in it," said Tampa Bay manager George Hoffman. "We just didn't score enough runs."
