Millers Trip Explorers, 13-7, in Extra Innings
|
It took 16 innings to settle this one.
The Minnesota Millers used the hitting of center fielder C J Abrams to subdue the Chicago Explorers, 13-7, in 16 innings. For the game, Abrams went 2 for 7 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. With the win, Minnesota raised its record to 30-28.
Minnesota used the clutch hitting of Zach Neto to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 16th inning to give the Millers the lead, 8-7. For the game, Neto had 1 single and 1 double in 8 at-bats.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Neto. "But we got it done."
