Riptides Get One-Run Win at Texas
The Carolina Riptides knocked off the Texas Vipers, 8-7, at Pepsi Dome. Ryan McMahon was a big reason Carolina won. The third baseman was 2-2 with a triple and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Richard Fitts earned the win, while 26-year old right-handed pitcher Tobias Myers took the loss for Texas. Dedniel Nunez notched his 4th save in 4 chances.

The Riptides benefited from an error in the top of the fifth inning. Carolina was leading 7-0 when Dairon Blanco hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Carolina in front, 8-0.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Blanco said.

The triumph puts Carolina at 32-28 for the season.
