Ironmen Resilient in 2-0 Win Over Minnesota
|
The Minnesota Millers went down to defeat to Hunter Greene and his Pittsburgh teammates. The final score was 2-0, in favor of the Ironmen. Pittsburgh reliever David Robertson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Taj Bradley was saddled with the loss. By defeating Minnesota, the first-place Ironmen improved to 34-27.
The decisive blow was delivered by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off fireballing right-hander Justin Martinez to win the game for Pittsburgh. The home crowd went nuts.
"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Guerrero Jr..
