Boston Beats Texas, 3-2
|
Boston pitcher Kyle Bradish had a large part in his team subduing the Texas Vipers, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Bradish got the win, improving to 4-5. He gave up 2 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Drew Rasmussen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 18 save opportunities.
Matt Chapman had a big run-scoring double for the Minutemen in the bottom of the third inning. With Boston leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Nestor Cortes, who is tied for 3rd in the UL in quality starts with 8, and swatted a double to left. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Minutemen ahead, 3-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Texas skipper Pete Seto, "and it cost us."
The second-place Minutemen have won 4 consecutive games.
