Sting Coast to 11-2 Victory
|
Seattle starter Jose Quintana ran into little resistance from Baltimore hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 11-2. The Union League Western Division-leading Sting have a record of 34-29.
Brandon Belt, who led the UL in extra base hits with 78 in 2017, took Baltimore hurler Casey Mize deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Sting on top, 2-0. In all, Belt had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Said losing manager Joe Bubanj: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
