The Carolina Riptides got a superb performance from pitcher Clayton Kershaw, but the Chicago Explorers still won the game, 6-4. Kershaw threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Chicago pitcher Anthony Misiewicz earned the win, hiking his record to 3-0. Phil Bickford suffered the loss. The win elevated the Explorers to 35-28.
Jesus Sanchez hit a 2-run triple off Lucas Luetge in the top of the tenth, which put the Explorers in front, 6-4. Sanchez had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Sanchez.
