Carolina pitcher Denyi Reyes had a large part in his team beating the Detroit Demons, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Carolina reliever Phil Bickford got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Jalen Beeks was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Riptides to 36-33.

Had Dairon Blanco not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Blanco hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Riptides.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Blanco told the Carolina Chronicle.
