Jeffers Slugs Bears to 15-9 Win
Thanks in large part to catcher Ryan Jeffers, the Denver Bears beat the Carolina Riptides, 15-9. Jeffers belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Denver pitcher Seth Lugo got the win, upping his record to 6-5. Clayton Kershaw got the loss. Andrew Chafin, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.

With Denver trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Jeffers hit a curveball from Clayton Kershaw for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Bears ahead, 5-4.

"It feels good to get this one," Jeffers told the Denver Observer.

The win elevated the Bears to 42-31.
