Anaheim Upended by Texas, 4-1
|
Texas Vipers starter Chris Bassitt was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Anaheim Diamonds, 4-1. Bassitt, the winner, moves to 2-3. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. Texas is now 33-40, Anaheim 34-39.
The Vipers got a big at-bat from right fielder Bryce Harper. For the game, Harper was 1 for 5 with a home run. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Texas a 1-0 lead.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Bassitt after the game.
