The Oakland Roses picked up a win at Pepsi Dome, downing the Texas Vipers, 8-1. On the mound for Oakland was right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who played a pivotal role in the win. Oakland used a clutch at-bat from Edmundo Sosa to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Roses ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
