Astudillo, Riptides Too Much for Bears
The Carolina Riptides beat the Denver Bears, 8-3, at Coors Field. The Riptides got a fine performance from designated hitter Willians Astudillo, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Denyi Reyes, who threw 96 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits. Carolina is now 39-35, while Denver is 42-32.

Carolina shortstop Bo Bichette contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 79th hit of the season and put the Riptides ahead, 6-1.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Astudillo.
