Carroll Goes Deep Twice in 5-4 Sting Win
|
Seattle beat Washington at Boeing Field, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder Corbin Carroll. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jose Soriano, who is tied for 10th in the UL in strikeouts with 94, was the winner. He's now 5-4. The loser was Christian Scott. Trevor Megill finished to wrap up his 6th save.
Seattle took a 5-3 lead on Carroll's 15th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Hunter Barco in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Seattle to the win.
"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Carroll.
With the win over Washington, the Sting improved to 46-28.
