Raley Stars in 10-9 Loss to Oakland
|
The Oakland Roses weathered a fine game by Baltimore right fielder Luke Raley to upend the Wildcats, 10-9, at Fan's Ballyard. Raley went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The save went to Fernando Cruz, his 16th this season. The Roses, now 35-39, have won 5 in a row.
Trevor Story, who finished 4th in the UL in triples with 8 in 2021, took Baltimore hurler Braxton Garrett deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Roses on top, 10-9. In all, Story had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Story said.
