Riptides Sneak Past Bears, 4-3

The Carolina Riptides picked up a win at Coors Field, downing the Denver Bears, 4-3. On the mound for Carolina was left-hander Jordan Montgomery, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win, Carolina raised its record to 40-35.
Carolina used the timely hitting of Wilyer Abreu to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Riptides on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Carolina manager Rob Hansen praised his team's "businesslike approach."
