Chourio Leads Vipers to 7-5 Win Over Diamonds
|
The Texas Vipers defeated the Anaheim Diamonds, 7-5, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Texas was led by 22-year old center fielder Jackson Chourio, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Kris Bubic picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-8. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. Mick Abel picked up the save, his 2nd.
Early in the game, Chourio had a 3-run home run for Texas. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Vipers on top, 4-1.
"We ground out the win," said Chourio. "That's all that matters."
The loss makes Anaheim 36-40.
