The Detroit Demons locked up a win at Detroit Park, knocking off the Phoenix Firebirds, 5-4. On the mound for Detroit was right-hander Shane Bieber. He played a major role in the triumph. Joey Wentz was credited with the save, his 3rd in 5 tries. With the victory, the Demons upped their record to 39-37.

Detroit left fielder Hunter Renfroe contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Demons ahead, 5-1.

"This was a good win," said Bieber.
