New York Defeated By Bandits, 8-7
|
The Tampa Bay Bandits beat the New York Sharks, 8-7, in part because of right fielder Aaron Judge. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tampa Bay reliever A.J. Minter picked up the win to move to 2-0. Seranthony Dominguez suffered the loss. Ryan Pressly, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities.
Jared Triolo drew 1 walk in 2 trips to the plate for Tampa Bay. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Michael Kopech. It was his 1st walk of the season.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Triolo told the Tampa Bay Chronicle.
With the win, the Bandits sit at 47-29.
