Sluggers Hand Baltimore 4-3 Loss
|
Lance McCullers Jr., who is tied for 4th in the FL with a 3.59 ERA, was locked in. The right-hander led the St Louis Sluggers to a 4-3 win against the Baltimore Wildcats at Busch Stadium. The win for the Sluggers raised their record to 45-33.
Had Francisco Lindor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Lindor hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Sluggers.
Said losing manager Joe Bubanj: "These are the grinding hard days that all good teams go through, and this is when we've got to stick together and believe in one another."
