Detroit Sent Home with 6-5 Loss
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Washington Hitmen and Detroit Demons.
The Washington Hitmen knocked off the Detroit Demons, 6-5, in Federal League action at Detroit Park. Washington pitcher and The United States, native Joe Boyle had an outstanding performance. Washington is now 37-41, Detroit 40-38.
Washington used a clutch at-bat from Noelvi Marte to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hitmen ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Marte told the Washington Bulletin.
