Hitmen Lose to Sting, 9-6
|
Sting first baseman Brandon Belt put his stamp on his team's 9-6 win over the Washington Hitmen. Belt went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Seattle in the contest. Josh Hader recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 13 for 14. Seattle is now 43-35, 4½ games up in the Union League Western Division.
With Seattle leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Belt hit a fastball from Christian Scott for a run-scoring double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Sting ahead, 3-1.
"Nice win for us," said Belt. "Now we'll go after the next one."
