Down Goes Phoenix, 7-3, to Boston
|
Though he had a stellar game, Zack Gelof could not prevent his team, the Phoenix Firebirds, from losing, 7-3, to the Boston Minutemen. Gelof was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Kyle Harrison notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. The Boston winning streak has reached 3 games.
Boston took a 4-3 lead on Jonah Heim's 19th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Heim hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Phoenix pitcher Anthony Maldonado visibly frustrated.
"Solid performance from our side," said Minutemen manager Tony Byrne.
