Millers Upend Bandits, 5-3
|
The Minnesota Millers faced a tough opponent in Tampa Bay pitcher Pablo Lopez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field by a final score of 5-3. Lopez went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Minnesota has won 3 straight, while Tampa Bay has lost 3 in a row.
Mike Zunino came through with a big-time hit for Minnesota. The catcher smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I still think this team can play even better," Zunino told the Minnesota Herald.
