Baltimore Gets 9-7 Win
|
The Baltimore Wildcats knocked off the Chicago Explorers, 9-7, in Federal League action at Baron's Ballyard. Baltimore pitcher and Dallas, Georgia, native Zack Wheeler had an outstanding performance. Wheeler, now 3-7, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Baltimore has a record of 32-48. Chicago falls to 41-39.
Starling Marte had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the fifth for Baltimore. With the bases loaded and the Wildcats leading 2-1, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
