Hitmen 3-2 Victors Over Cincinnati
|
The Cincinnati Stars got a sterling performance from pitcher Sean Manaea, but the Washington Hitmen still prevailed, 3-2. Manaea threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Washington reliever Keegan Akin was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Sean Manaea took the loss. Ian Hamilton got the save, his 20th in 21 chances.
The Hitmen got a big at-bat from first baseman Keston Hiura. For the game, Hiura was 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Washington a 3-2 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Hiura said.
