The Oakland Roses beat the Baltimore Wildcats, 7-4. Oakland pitcher and Stony Brook, New York, native Steve Matz led the way. The win lifted the Oakland record to 43-40.

Oakland won the game in part because of Teoscar Hernandez. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Roses ahead, 5-1. For the game, Hernandez had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"Feels good to get the job done," Matz said after the game.
