Phoenix Upended by Boston, 5-3
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Jeremy Pena, the Boston Minutemen defeated the Phoenix Firebirds, 5-3. Pena went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Minutemen. The win elevated the Minutemen to 46-40.
Early in the game, Pena had a grand slam home run for Boston. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Minutemen on top, 4-0.
Pena told a Boston Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
