Boston Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Boston Minutemen had to overcome a good performance from Carolina pitcher Dylan Cease to claim a 3-2 win at Fenway Park. Cease went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. After today's action, Boston sits at 39-48; Carolina slips to 48-39.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jeremy Pena in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 40-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Martin to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Carolina manager Rob Hansen.
