Minutemen Clobber Phalanx, 13-1
|
Xander Bogaerts was a vital contributor to the 13-1 Boston victory over Philadelphia. The Minutemen shortstop hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Hunter Brown was the winner. He's now 8-6. The loser was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Garrett Whitlock. The loss makes Philadelphia 42-46.
The Minutemen benefited from an error in the top of the second inning. Boston was leading 1-0 when Luis Rengifo hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Boston in front, 3-0.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rengifo told the Boston Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
