Bombers Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
The Pittsburgh Ironmen got a superb performance from pitcher Miles Mikolas, but the Bronx Bombers still won the game, 3-2. Mikolas threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. After today's action, Bronx sits at 44-48, while Pittsburgh falls to 48-44.
Bronx used the timely hitting of John Rave to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bombers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Pittsburgh manager Ryan Morneau. "But we decided not to take it."
