Sluggers Capture Close Win
The St Louis Sluggers eked out a 3-2 win versus the Chicago Explorers at Baron's Ballyard. Nobody did more than pitcher Marcus Stroman. He was terrific. With the win, St Louis upped its record to 53-40.

St Louis used the timely hitting of Christian Vazquez to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sluggers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

St Louis manager John Hawkins commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
