Carolina Tacks 6-1 Loss on Houston
|
The Carolina Riptides locked up a win at IBM Field, knocking off the Houston Titans, 6-1. On the mound for Carolina was right-hander Dylan Cease. He played a major role in the triumph. The 49-44 Riptides lead the Union League Eastern Division by one game.
Juan Soto, who finished 3rd in the UL in OPS with .981 last year, took Houston hurler J.P. France deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Riptides on top, 2-0. In all, Soto had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Soto.
