Vipers Sunk by Sting
|
Seattle Sting starter Corbin Burnes pitched effectively against the Texas Vipers at Boeing Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Josh Hader got the save, his 18th in 19 chances. The Union League Western Division-leading Sting have a record of 52-42.
Had Jose Trevino not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Trevino hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Sting.
"Corbin is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Seattle manager Jesus Cardiel.
