Sting Run Win Streak to 6
|
The Seattle Sting and Texas Vipers played an entertaining game for Boeing Field patrons.
Seattle picked up a win at Boeing Field, bumping off the Texas Vipers, 4-3. Pitcher Ryne Nelson was a major reason the Sting emerged victorious. Pierce Johnson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
Seattle took a 3-2 lead on Ketel Marte's 27th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Marte hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Texas pitcher Joe Mantiply visibly frustrated.
"Ryne was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Seattle manager Jesus Cardiel.
The first-place Sting have won 6 consecutive games.
