The Carolina Riptides got a sterling performance from pitcher Clayton Kershaw, but the Pittsburgh Ironmen still prevailed, 6-0. Kershaw threw 7.1 innings allowing 4 runs. Pittsburgh reliever Jandel Gustave picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Clayton Kershaw absorbed the loss. The Ironmen sport a record of 34-64.

Pittsburgh used the hitting of Joey Wiemer to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the Ironmen on top, 2-0. For the game, Wiemer had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Wiemer told the Pittsburgh Chronicle.
