Bears Dealt 5-2 Loss by Carolina
|
The Carolina Riptides picked up a win at IBM Field, knocking off the Denver Bears, 5-2. On the mound for Carolina was right-hander Denyi Reyes. He played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Reyes, now 2-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The triumph puts Carolina at 52-48 for the season.
The Riptides got a big at-bat from center fielder Cedric Mullins. For the game, Mullins went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Carolina a 3-2 lead.
Mullins said his team "played with focus."
