The Jaguars grabbed a win, 7-6, at Toyota Field, overcoming a fine effort from Baltimore pitcher Gerrit Cole. Cole went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Bryce Elder picked up the win. His record improves to 5-4. Paul Sewald, who is tied for 5th in the FL in saves with 19, took the loss. Portland is now 48-52, while Baltimore is 43-57.

Alexander Canario came through with a big-time hit for Portland. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Portland manager Darren Meserve.
