Demons Lose, 4-2, in 13
|
The Phoenix Firebirds beat the Detroit Demons, 4-2, in 13 innings. Phoenix pitcher and Boston, Massachusetts, native Alex Cobb led the way. The win gives Phoenix a season record of 60-40.
The decisive blow was delivered by Denzel Clarke in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a 2-run home run off 31-year old left-handed pitcher Colin Poche to win the game for Phoenix. The home crowd went nuts.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Clarke said.
